Andy Murray has travelled to California for this week's first Masters Series event of the season at Indian Wells.
The world number four withdrew from Britain's Davis Cup tie against Ukraine last week because of a viral complaint.
The 21-year-old Scot told his website: "I'm headed off to the States. Not 100% yet, but feeling better for sure."
Murray has a first-round bye and will face either France's Florent Serra or Spain's Albert Montanes in his opener - if he decides he is fit to play.
He fell ill at the quarter-final stage of the Dubai Open the week before, but hopes to feature in the event that runs from 12-23 March.
Murray said last week that the virus had hit him harder than any illness during his career.
